the Stan Major Show in Tampa |
THIS SHOW ASKED THE QUESTION:
"SHOULD DON JOHNSON GET A HAIRCUT?"
IT WAS A POLL...I ANSWERED THE CALLS AND JOHNSON HIMSELF CALLED IN ABOUT A MINUTE OR SO INTO THE POLL!
Lawyers scamming all movie & tv producers!
...In the talk radio business some years back corporate lawyers tried to pad their fees with what turned out to be stupid “warnings” or advice. We were told by management to use special “disclaimers” not holding the network or station responsible for anything we’d say.
But most of us in the talk radio business didn’t buy it and eventually the lawyers backed off.
But always looking for more fees...what the scare monger attorneys did then did is move to the film and tv studios and producers who bought the warnings idea...and so ever since...you have these asinine “disclaimers” at the beginning of a movie or show and what do the disclaimers say:
“The producers are not responsible for anything said by the cast or anyone else under the sun about this or any other things they’ve ever uttered.”
Or something that stupid.
It’s meaningless but everytime you see those opening disclaimers...give it a laugh or a smirk...and send the lawyers their ill begotten fees for all that great advice.
Let’s see....”Russell Crowe said what about who”?
The thing the really makes no sense is IF SOMEONE SUES A FILM MAKER FOR SOMETHING A STAR SAID IN AN INTERVIEW...GUESS WHO MAKES THE BREAD ON THAT!
THE LAWYERS...OF COURSE.
So one could say the attorney’s giving the warnings about using the disclaimers were actually cutting their own throats.
Pretty funny, huh?
