female ad killers

Edie
Barbara

reminiscing about female tv ad gals from the 50’s or so.

Barbara Feldon could sell me ANYTHING!

she was the greatest ad gal ever on television.
she and Edie Adams had more talent in their little finger than all the pitch women today. (if there are any)
Edie (married to the crazy Ernie Kovacs) told you to “pick up a Mureal” and smoke it sometime and you did.
Barbara lay on a tiger skin rug in an advertisement for Top Brass men's cologne that I didn’t need but went out a bought anyway....because she said to.

Dick Casper was one of the real innovators in top 40 radio.
Then he was challenged in Miami...where he was hired to build an new AM talk station...WNWS... and he hired Neil Rogers who convinced him to hire me.
Casper had designed new talk studios and we moved into the building (which had been a funeral home) in the Kendall area of South Miami.
Al Rantel was also on hand and we all weathered the infamous Cuban boat lift of 78.
Dick Casper deserves to be noted whenever anyone writes or speaks of the innovators of the true “top forty” or “all talk” pioneers of that radio era.  His name belongs right up there with Bartell, McLendon, Storz and others.
